Warsaw: IS-Wireless, a Warsaw-based IPR provider, announces the availability of the LTE PHY Lab – a comprehensive implementation of the 3GPP Release 8 E-UTRA physical layer. It is released as a MATLAB™ Toolbox under the MathWorks Connections Program, together with the sibling product – WiMAX PHY Lab, which implements mobile WiMAX PHY. Both products can be used at all stages of the software, hardware and IPR development for the two wireless standards, from research, prototyping and implementation, up to system benchmarking, verification and testing.
Prof. Krzysztof Kulpa from the Warsaw University of Technology says after trialing the products: “LTE PHY Lab and WiMAX PHY Lab are great tools of direct application in research and education. They don’t only shorten the time needed to generate valuable scientific contribution but they also serve as an excellent platform for students allowing them to obtain practical experience in the area of LTE and WiMAX radio interfaces. Additionally, the support provided by IS-Wireless is excellent.”
IS-Wireless’ CEO, Dr. Slawomir Pietrzyk says: “We put a lot of effort in making sure our products are technically sound and provide added-value to our customers. Hence we complement the products with unrivalled customer support. We are proud recipient of distinction awarded in the “Innovator of Mazovia 2009” contents in the category “Young and Innovative Company”, in recognition of our world-class wireless products and services. We are fully committed to LTE and WiMAX radio, working on their component techniques such as OFDMA and MIMO as early as since 1998. Hence the results don’t come as a big surprise”.
